I don't know but a few years ago a guy from Washington sent me a couple dozen and these things were by far the best apples I ever ate. Kinda of soft in texture unlike the crispy ones we buy down here.

I just bought some at a farmers market but can't remember the name. But they're mostly red, pretty tart, taste kind of like a golden delicious, and they're freaking huge.

The most terrifying "variety" I've ever tasted was a Grāpple -- an apple "infused" with grape flavor.
