This is a new poll I am doing in order to pass the time until draft day. Instead of just listing your favorite band, I broke it down by decade. In deciding your favorite band, only releases in that decade can be considered. For example, if you love Iron Maiden's 80's releases, great. But those cant be included in the 90's list. Make sense? Here we go. I want to see some responses here.

1970's:

1) Kiss
2) Black Sabbath
3) Judas Priest
4) Styx
5) Areosmith
6) ACDC
7) Alice Cooper
8) Van Halen
9) Bad Company
10) Blue Oyster Cult

I probably wouldn't rank most of those in my favorites but that's just personal taste. I respect what some of those did for music, especially what Sabbath paved as far as hard rock and metal. Also if not for blue oyster cult then you wouldn't have one of the greatest SNL skits ever haha. Here is my list:

1. Bob Dylan
2. Cat Stevens
3. Rolling Stones
4. Led Zepplin
5. Bob Marley
6. The Who
7. Pink Floyd
8. Queen
9. Eric Clapton
10. Doors

By decade? Ok, here it goes!

#1. KISS - By far the best musical group in the world!
#2. Charlie Daniels Band - Long Hair Country Boy is my favorite! Says it like it is!
#3. Alice Cooper - The Coop! Gave birth to KISS! Be My Lover and Go To Hell!
#4. Billy Joel - The Stranger and Big Shot!
#5. Queen - Tie Your Mother Down was a Killer!
#6. Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band - Nightmoves and Katmandu!
#7. Journey - Any Way Uou Want It was a rocking tune!
#8. Fleetwood Mac - Sara and Go Your Own Way!
#9. Styx - Come Sail Away and Renagade!
#10. The Eagles - Life In The Fast Lane and Desperado!

That is the best I can do, the list may change tomorrow except for the #1 spot.

Damn Jerry I forgot about Billy Joel, Queen and Journey. I like all those bands as well. I will have to re-evaluate my list.

And Rafeces, shame on you for having overated dreck like Led Zeppelin in there but no Kiss!

Dick,You need to take your head out your ***! Led Zeppelin is way more influencial than Kiss could ever be! Just ask any musician out there today! Even bands like BfMV will probably say Zeppelin over Kiss! I'm sorry but Kiss just doesn't do a thing for me except for a few songs!
On the other hand,Led Zeppelin were the pioneers of heavy rock and roll and that is the stuff I've been into my whole life.

I disagree. I think most bands, from Motley Crue to Anthrax to Pantera to BFMV all would rate Kiss higher and more influential. I think the Kiss songs hold up way better today. Listen to Deuce or Detroit and it still songs great today. Zepelins songs are just old, stale and boring! They were not that good to deserve all of this attention. Smae with Pink Floyd!
