I'm a big 80's Eddie Murphy fan, and allways felt Golden Child to be somewhat lost in between all of his others.
Nothing but trouble (1991) holds fond memories for me as well.

The Other Guys (IMO, Adam McKay's best film)

Oragazmo (Really really funny)

Idiocracy (Mike Judge's best film. Really scary as our country gets closer to this everyday. "It's got electrolytes!")

Memento (don't know if it is overrated or not but it's my favorite Nolan film)

The Truman Show (IMO, Jim Carrey's best performance ever)

And I’ll also add Life with Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence

I think it was a victim of mismarketing

Because of those two (in addition to Bernie Mac) it was marketed as this hilarious comedy

It wasn’t, it was more of a lighthearted Shawshank Redemption
