Final kickoff with Reggie returning the kick (1 Viewer)

I would have rather had a fair catch and let Drew go long to Meachem or Devery.

Once the ball was kicked into the end zone, I would have rather he kneeled it and set up on offense to try to take one shot at the 45/50 yd line with :09 left, then a hail mary with :01 to :02 left.

I did like seeing Reggie returning a kickoff finally. Always wanted to see what he could do with that much open field.

Actually thought it was a well orchestrated return. You could tell they have practiced it.

I had turned the TV off in anger by that point, can anyone describe what happend?

likewise, i recall him back returning a kick his rookie year against cleveland:scratch:, and maybe one other time in a situation similar to yesterday's game. which brings another question, if you arent going to use him that much in the offense why not have him returning kickoffs, especially in Roby's absence?

I never quite understood why we don't use Reggie on KR and situations where we are losing. Minnesota uses Adrian Peterson for important kickoffs, the Jags use MJD, etc.

If we're barely going to use Reggie on offense, then why not give him 1-2 kickoff returns a game?

Only time I remember was when we played Minnesota on MNF a couple of years ago, the one where he returned two punts for TDs (God I miss the old, explosive Reggie!).

He was lined up back there on a 4th quarter kickoff but they kicked it away from him.

it surprised me that Baltimore didn't kick it away either... i was watchign the Eagles game simultaneously and was wishign the outcome was reversed with our game.. its funny how identical these games were

This. The chances of something like that working are slim, and it usually isn't even entertaining. I gave them props just for making it fun to watch. I actually thought for just a second it had a chance.

But personally, I'd have been okay with a kneel-down and a deep throw, but neither option had a decent chance at working.

I half agree and half disagree. I thought it was all fine considering you had chicken feathers to deal with. My only problem was there was a lack of blocking once Reggie got the ball back for the second time.

I like giving it up and having reggie go to the other side of the field and heaving it across to him, I would have just prefered that he had a blocking escort once he got the ball back. I think once had turned the corner he had a shot, but couldnt cut back in.

Oh well, save it for when we really need it.
