After watching today's game it's evident this is the defense most pressing need. For some reason I just think Jason Pierre Paul would be a perfect fit in the Big Easy. Very stout defender against the rush and a bona-fide pass rusher that could give the saints their best defensive line since the days of Joe Johnson and Laroi Glover.

We have the money to go out and do what the Giants did. Just go buy a front 7.

Not doubting on the need, but I prefer to grab one or two in the d aft. Let's attack free agency to finally build some depth, specially at the offensive line.

Our offense is set, outside of guard. We are in position, with our loads of cap space, to completely revamp our defensive personnel.

A large chunk will have to go to Fairley, but even with that, we should be able to stretch the remaining money pretty far. We do so much damage with minimal space, just think of how much damage we will do with the space we are set to have.

We have a very fun off-season coming - The 11th pick, splash free agents, and don't rule out a splash trade for an expensive player.

Now that we are out of dead money hell, it's time to restock this roster with potential stars and "name brand" players.

Yessir. They're much better and it's proof that you can fix a lot of problems when you have the bucks. We're not trying to implement a new defensive philosophy this time, already know what we're running.

No coaches to coach them. Better hope they are at their prime this coaching staff tends to work wonders with players they bring in.

Whatever.

Spagnuolo was fresh off having the 32nd ranked defense last year before they went out and bought a defense this season. Talent matters.

We definitely need a pass rusher, but I also think we can't afford to ignore the need for a corner opposite Breaux. While we had some guys step up and play well this season, we need to invest in another cornerback badly.

He has done it before. Vitt and Johnson have never done it.

Now we don't have that much money. One can't buy seven elite players in a single year.

1) FRONT FOUR - all that's missing is the edge rusher, RDE.
2) LINEBACKERS - yeah, agree, we need more help here.

But between the draft and free agency, it's doable. Defense is closer now - closer than it was last year, closer than the year before.

What has he done before, coordinate a defense? You're right Joe and Bill haven't.

If you were trying to say something about coaching up talent then give them some to coach though Bill is doing good with what he's got.

Yup, some of those passes were out so quickly today that a pass rush wouldn't have mattered. What would have mattered is a corner who can actually cover. I don't think we currently have our replacement for Lewis on the roster.

He's done it once before with HOF defensive line talent. He's also had some absolutely awful defenses with the Giants, Rams, and Saints.

Vitt and Johnson have both been part of top 5 defenses here as well. Twice.

Is JPP Any good still?

Sure, he had 7 sacks, but 5.5 of them came in two games.. Chicago and Cleveland.
