For those of us with any long-covid issues, also know as covid long haulers. (14 Viewers)

Great thread- I had Covid in July after a disc replacement surgery in my neck. 2 weeks later (after the relatively mild case of Covid) I had an emergency appendectomy. Multiple cases of bronchitis, ear infections, and ER visits since. Big time fatigue, general malaise, high blood pressure, heart palpitations, neck/shoulder soreness, shortness of breath, anxiety. Constant headaches. GERD. Had a colonoscopy last month and just had a holter pack and echocardiogram last week. All show normal. I’m having an endoscope Weds as a last ditch effort to find out if this is anything more than long haul. My last major hospital visit had been 10 years ago. This really does make you feel like you’re either going crazy or on the brink of death. It’s nuts.

Wanted to make a separate thread for those of us dealing with it. It can really help to be able to relate to others and know you aren't alone.

My current issues are nerve pain all along my ribs, mostly intercostal not under the ribs. Also have issues with tingling in feet or hands at times. Blood pressure can fluctuate as well as inconsistent heart rate. Even get some episodes of IBS at times, but not as often.

Had a very light case of covid at the end of July into Aug, and about 2 weeks after testing negative the long covid issues started.

Also I am vaccinated and was a break through infection.
Good luck to you- I hope you find some answers or it clears up soon. I’ve been terrified (best word I can think of) for the last few months and I’m a pretty even-keeled guy.

Yeah it can be pretty awful and unfortunately my family hasn't been very supportive of me, they think it's all in my head most of the time.

My kids caught covid in September. None of them report any long covid symptoms, but they have all had stomach flu twice and a pretty nasty cold since then. One of them had a full body rash a couple weeks ago. They have missed so much school this semester. All three younger children had mild covid symptoms.

My kindergartener, who was the first to get sick with covid, said she probably caught it from another kid who had it playing the dragon game. When asked what the dragon game was, she replied "it's when you open your mouth and pretend to breath fire into your friends mouths."
Yuck. Kids are dumb.

I caught my friends kid spitting in the cooler at my daughter's birthday party. He wasn't even trying to be funny because he did it when he thought no one was looking. Children are absolute monsters.

A young woman has pleaded with people to take COVID-19 seriously after she developed a long-term symptom that causes food and drink to taste and smell revolting.

In a TikTok video describing her symptoms, 20-year-old Natalia Cano says she caught COVID 10 months ago.

Since then, she has lived with a condition called parosmia. It's a term referring to distortion of one's senses of taste and smell that often causes things to taste and smell unpleasant or disgusting.

According to the University of Utah, parosmia can make normal food and drink, such as coffee or fruit, smell and taste like rotten meat or garbage.

In her video, which has been watched 2.2 million times on TikTok and attracted several thousand comments, Cano provides a moving description of living with such symptoms, which she finds hard to describe.............

How old was the kid?

An update on my long hauler symptoms as they are nearly gone since I have been sticking with a 16-8 fasting regime, and recently switching to OMAD.

The only real issue I still have at this point seems to be my lowered sense of smell, which I am not complaining because it seems to have me more prone to be unable to smell bad odors while being able to smell pleasant ones. I will take it!

Come to New Orleans to world famous Bourbon Street. We will get the rest of those olfactory issues cleared right up at no additional charge.

I was told, by antibody test months later, that I had Sars Cov 2 late November of 2019. I was laid up with fever for 8 days and lost 17lbs. It led to 10 months of Bronchitis. I got fed up and made a point to stay in clean air environments for a week straight and it finally broke. Needless to say, I was first in line to get the Cov 19 vax.

Before the coronavirus ruined her plans, Tiffany Patino expected to be back at work by now. She and her boyfriend intended to move out of a basement in suburban Maryland, where his grandmother lets them stay for free, so they could raise their infant son in a place of their own. Maybe get a new car.
But Patino got sick with covid-19 more than a year ago. Instead of getting better, chronic exhaustion and other symptoms persisted, delaying her return to a restaurant job and swamping her goal of financial independence.

After reaching what she calls her “hell-iversary” last month, Patino remains unable to rejoin the workforce. With no income of her own, she’s exhausted, racked with pain, short of breath, forgetful, bloated, swollen, depressed.

At 28 years old, she can barely take her baby to the playground. “I go on a walk, and I have to use the stroller like a walker,” she said. “Whatever life I have right now, it’s more like surviving. I’m not living my dream. I’m living a nightmare.”

Across America, many of the nearly 50 million people infected with the coronavirus continue to suffer from some persistent symptoms, with a smaller subset experiencing such unbearable fatigue and other maladies that they can’t work, forcing them to drop out of the workforce, abandon careers and rack up huge debts.

Hard data is not available and estimates vary widely, but based on published studies and their own experience treating patients, several medical specialists said 750,000 to 1.3 million patients likely remain so sick for extended periods that they can’t return to the workforce full time.............

The only two long hauler symptoms I am having are some issues with sense of smell. Which isn't bad because I still cannot smell bad odors, only pleasant ones.

And the other is occasional light headedness.
