There’s enough of these nonsense Draft threads that it looks like this is the right time to say this.
Dalton is a fine QB, Jimmy G or Carr are good options too. Nothing out there right now in the draft or FA that screams success.
But an All Pro TE can help change an offense. It happens against us too often for us not to understand how these first down and red zone machines can hurt you.
Michael Mayer at Notre Dame is that dude.
He’s a sure thing. Will be an absolute stud in the league. We could trade 29 and 40 and move up and change our offense for the better. Make it that much easier for the next QB option.
Watch him in all season this year or against Bama in 2021.

This is my #1 wishlist item. Forget rolling the dice on a QB that odds say won’t work out and make us the Texans for 3-4 years. Washington and 49ers have been patient in waiting to go get a franchise guy and have been fine and have built better teams in the meantime for when that moment comes.
