This news makes me sad. He did so much for the game outside of winning all those championships. He was the one of the first coaches to hire black coordinators and put black people in FO positions. He did beat the Saints on a regular basis but he did it with class and he was always first to praise guys like Rickey Jackson and Sam Mills.

Sad news....Coach Walsh was allways a class act. He praised Saints fans as the best, most deserving fans in the NFL a while back. It was right after he left Coaching and was a tv analyst doing games. He covered a Saints game in the Superdome and I clearly remember him saying that about the fans in NO.

This guy is the modern Godfather of what NFL offenses have become. His West Coast offense is new used all over the league and his Asst Coaches are everywhere.
