Given our recent propensity to draft guys that come from NFL heritages, Cameron Jordan and nick toon, what do you guys think of OT Kyle Long and SS TJ McDonald?

Mcdonald is like Kam Chancellor minus the coverage skills. If we are going to bring in a safety he has to be able to cover

I think McDonald wasn't used properly. He is a little long limbed but you can't fault him for the type of scheme that was used. I think he'll be ok. He is a student of the game but then again USC has some solid coaching so u have to wonder why he wasn't better. I like him though......... Trufant is probably my favorite legacy player in this draft.

Man this is an excellent philosophical question. What is more important nature or nurture? Where do the two meet?

I like the idea of drafting legacy players because they grow up with the game as an important part of family life. To them football puts "food on the table".

Whether that translates into football skills probably relies more on where their DNA lines up with their papa. Did they get the muscle and skeletal structure? If so, you might assume that they would be easier to coach up to the next level.

Include in this years draft:
Brennan Williams, (who is an OT) son of Brent Willams

and

Kwame Geathers (Jumpy's kid)

You guys purposely left out Ingram?

I didn't intentionally.

CB Trufant certainly is intriguing also. Wouldn't be surprising if we trade down. Because another 6' CB seems to be on the wish list.

DT/NT geathers would fill a need also. Huge guy, but how well can he move?

A good comparison is "a poor man's Wilfork" - slower than molasses off the snap - but surprisingly good high end speed for a large man. Kwame is a average run thumper. Here some highlights:

Kwame Geathers vs Georgia Tech (2012) - YouTube

he looked a lot better against bama:

Here's daddy at his best -

Notice Kwame didn't inherit the long legs/torso.
