We can’t make some of the mistakes we made last week against <st1:city w:st="on"><st1>Detroit</st1></st1:city> and hope to come out of Philly with a victory. It is absolutely imperative that we protect that ball. As an offense we can’t put the defense in bad positions. As with last week we must establish a solid running game. I want you all to go out there and run it down their throat. Match hit for hit. When you make contact with a defensive player I want to see him be pushed back. They are the ones that will give ground, not us. When you walk out on that field today you must do so with the mind set that this is our game to win. Don’t allow the Eagles to take our victory from us. How far we go this season only depends on what you do in the here and now. You must remain focused on our present goal and that is a victory over a very good Eagles team.<o></o>

<o></o>We must wear the eagles offense out with a constant assault by our defense. We have to hit them so hard they will still feel it opening day of next season. Turnovers are the key. Forcing those turnovers will drain the life out of not only the Eagles offense, but the crowd.

Offensively we must continue the ground and air assault that started with the Lions. We have to get the lead, then continue to put the pressure on the Eagles. When we have an opponent down, we have to step on them. They can't keep up with us and they won't keep up with us.

Throughout NFL history there have been many teams of destiny. Many teams that have grabbed opportunity and held on for dear life. They refused to let go because they knew it was their time. At times it was tough for those teams as it will be for us, but those teams constantly surged forward. They did not stop. Like a constant dripping of water on a stone, it will eventually wear away at the stone. Each week we will continue to wear away at the rest of the NFL and that is no different this week. Now lets go out there and WIN THIS GAME. The road to Miami travels through Philly this week so we must stay the course. Its OUR TIME, Now Seize It!!!

Here we go again with another FTR game day speech, and here I go again loving it.

I didn't notice anywhere you hint that we should avoid their strengths and exploit their weaknesses. You may win a handful of games playing that way, but if you really want to contend for a title, you have to line up and beat them man for man. You have to outrun, out hit, out catch, and out block, and out think them. You have to inflict more pain than you receive, and you have to endure your pain with grace. If we can't beat them straight up, we don't really DESERVE to be champions. That's why combat sports are the purest form of competition, and the reason football appeals to our ancient aggression instincts.
