just now on cold pizza they were talking saints and cowboys. female reporter just said game should be a shoot out, said she was at the saints and bengals game and that it looked like fred thomas couldn't cover her.

Jaws said that the Cowboys should exploit Fred Thomas this Sunday. So, I don't want anyone saying that Thomas is just having a bad couple of games, or that he hurt his thumb, or any other excuse. He needs to be replaced, and fast.

Freddie T has been a good CB for us for a long time.

Just looks like he has lost a step. Father time is cruel...

I would rather they play Jason Craft as opposed to Freddy T. At least he can run with the faster WR's. Thomas is ALWAYS 5 yards or further behind a streaking receiver. The only way he can cover these guys is by giving them a 10 yard cushion, then they will just catch the ball in front of him all day long..

I've YET to hear what went wrong in that game(talking about the bungles)! While I'm a Freddie Thomas homer (admittedly when he played so well that year with the broken hand he really showed his deterimination to me) I also have seen where Coach Payton won't put up with players who can't play , therefore, why on Earth would FT even be IN THE GAME if he were such a liablility? Are we THAT short at CB? Is Jason Craft THAT bad?(possible)

You'd have thought there would have been a great chance at finger pointing after the FT Toastings but NO! There have been no such things! Not even Freddie defending himself by throwing someone else (pick a Safety) under the bus on his own behalf.

But NO! No one has come to the point of blame other than the TEAM needs to step it up and while there has been a penchant for giving up large plays on Freddie Thomas' side (it seems like that anyway lately) I remember teams going after MM and frustrating us with completions on that side too (not so much this year but in years past) . So much so that I considered MM a bust for a period of time ( can't put my finger on specific games at the moment but I know my opinion of Mike McKensie has changed over the past 5-6 games now).

If Thomas or the whole Defensive Secondary needed any more fodder to fuel their play this Sunday Night, well whomever that "woman" was, she sure gave it to them with "He couldn't cover ME!" business! What she knows about coverages I would question whether she truly understands how different defenses are called plays where CB's drop coverage and the Saftey is the one to pick the deep receiver up and so forth. There are many different "calls" and sure there are blown assigns and in fact blown coverages since staying with a WR in this League may be one of the hardest gigs on the planet(right up there with The President of the U.S. and keeping parcells' doughnut holes loaded or whatever) Anyhow, I have always thought Freddie Thomas was a "gamer" a hard hitter with limited skills but plays above that with experience and dedication. Coach Payton must see some of that too since FT is still in there and even playing hurt to help this team WIN! Do you really think that after all of these years, with a great shot at the play-offs FT would NOT play hard and leavet his football efforts lacking?

I don't think so and I'm willing to bet he plays his heart out come Sunday Night with crap like what was said on Cold Pizza ( had some this morning although I did throw it in the micro-wave to warm it a little) just fueling his fire to make plays and to ensure the Secondary does the right thing in coverages. I say we keep a special EYE on FT this Sunday and let's see come Monday how we feel about his abiilities!

I'm counting on him and the rest of the team for a strong effort as is Coach Payton whom I've come to thiink very highly of!

Fred Thomas owns that female reporter... She wouldn't do anything against Freddy T!

:_rofl:
Was she hot?

6 weeks ago, all we heard on this board was that Jason Craft had no business even playing professional football any more, that he couldn't stick as a backup on any roster in the NFL.

Now we hear that Thomas needs to be replaced because he's garbage, he stinks, he can't play, he's pathetic, he's over the hill, he can't play football, he's a sissy, and his mother is a fat cow.

It's moronic. Should Deloatch replace Thomas? How about putting Gleason back there, or should we maybe drag Dave Waymer out of the grave and stick him out there?

We have who we have, and the team is what it is. We have a great coach who sees these guys every day, watches them practice, watches the tape of games... and some of you clowns think you have a better idea of who should be on the field, or which prehistoric retread needs to be plugged in to make everything better.

I'm sure Sean Payton wishes he had Al Harris and Ed Reed to suddenly plug in back there, but he doesn't.

We play with the guys we have. Enjoy the game.

Was it Dana Jacobson? I know this sounds cruel but on TV it looks like her butt should have it's own Congressman. It would take a termite tent to cover her.

And Fred Thomas is going to get a lot of help, simply because he's too short.

But he won't get help every play, and he may well get caught in single coverage sometimes and be beaten. You have to switch your coverages, and you have to take some chances on one part of the field, in order to take away something else. That's the way it goes.

Wow and WOW again!! It wasnt Jacobsen though...some reporter from Detroit.

As far as FT goes...a better pass rush will help out corners as much as anything. lets get to Romo big time...it will make everyones job easier...

"It is what it is."---Saints Coach Sean Payton to N.O. media (about twice a week).
