"One man's trash is another man's treasure."
Those words were uttered by former Saints wide receiver Joe Horn, who signed a four-year, $19 million contract with the Atlanta Falcons. Although the words summed up his quick departure from the Big Easy last week, they aptly describe the practice we've come to know as NFL free agency.
It's business as usual.
Running back Willis McGahee was "trash" in Buffalo, now he's "treasured" in Baltimore after being acquired by the Ravens for three draft picks.
Quarterback Jeff Garcia was "trash" in Philadelphia, now he's "treasured" in Tampa Bay after signing with the Buccaneers.
