If they want to sign a WR, they should look at players that have potential to take it to the next level, but have been buried on depth chart.

Chark, Gallup, Allen Robinson or Watkins would be nice..but will cost more.

The biggest FA signings will be current Saints players, Marcus Williams and Terron Armstead. After that, I don't see the Saints going after any of them top tier players. Maybe a WR like Robert Gallup or DJ Chark if the market cools on them because of injury history. Maybe even OBJ if the market cools a bit on him for OBJ reasons and he's looking more at fit rather than paycheck. Those are all long shots through, IMO.

If the Saints find someone with top end talent, it's going to be because of some other fault like injury history. A guy like Will Fuller or Sammy Watkins might make sense as an affordable #3 WR option early in free agency. Then, they Saints sit back and wait for the dust to settle after all the big contracts have been signed for the guys who overplayed their hand.

It's going to take almost everything we have just to keep Terron and Marcus and maybe resign Jameis. We are going to have to do a really smart job of bringing in some affordable depth at O line and WR, hitting in the draft (more like 2021 than 2020), and getting a few undrafted FA diamonds in the rough.
