imo The FO is doing a great job building this team. We resigned most of the players that helped get us to the NFC champ game. Plus we added some young guys for D. who may not all be starters but will at least give us some good depth and yes Vilma and Morgan have some red flags about there health but we got them at low risk so hopefully one will at least pay off I hope Vilma. I know alot of people wanted some of the big name D players out there and it would of been nice to land Briggs but Look at the Pats and the Colts they build through the draft and by making smart free agency decisions and most importantly keeping the players that fit there system and produce. Thats what I think we r doing. Also keep in mind that its only year 3 in the Payton Brees era these other teams have been building for years. All in all I think we r headed in the right direction. Build a good team with nice depth then add a few big name play makers though free agency if none of our draft guys step up. imho I think we r building this team to be consistent contenders instead of Super Bowl or Bust

Thats what Payton said a long time ago that they were trying to mock the success of teams like the Eagles who are in the hunt every year.

Sounds good to me.

Man I havnt seen that game in a long time. I must say Im disappointed this was my 2nd post since I joined and I thought more people would have opinions on the way we r building this team. I cant wait till the draft

Keep in mind, as evidence to change, that we are resigning most of our talent, and people like Bently-- who are worth the money, are no longer bolting for the door. Faine left, but he was no where near as dominant as Bentley, and I would much rather pay Bentley yeserday what Faine is asking today. Too bad things deteriorated to the point that Bentley never saw the positive changes occur, and too bad for the staph infections half of their injured squad got. I digress though, almost all of our free agents are on record saying this is where they want to be and that they didn't even check out other teams but wanted to remain here. When was the last time we heard that?

I agree I think the players on our roster know we have have something special here and want to be apart of it. I wish we could have kept Faine but he was asking for way to much money. Also I think we r becoming known for giving players a second chance to revive their career ala Brees,Faine,Vilma,Morgan,Patten,Eric Johnson
