SAN DIEGO — It looked like the New Orleans Saints were going to be 0-4.
They trailed the San Diego Chargers by 13 with just 8:39 remaining in regulation and punted back to the Chargers with 6:59 left.
Then, San Diego running back Melvin Gordon lost a fumble, and the Saints scored one touchdown. On the next drive, Chargers wide receiver Travis Benjamin lost a fumble.
And with 1:57 remaining, Saints fullback John Kuhn punched in a 1-yard touchdown run to give the Saints a 35-34 lead, and they won their first game of the year.
