As i sit here in self-imposed isolation, i find myself daydreaming, or hallucinating, about things in life I’ve enjoyed, and hope to one day be able to enjoy again... Things like Mardi Gras.

I was taking a look at the dates for Mardi Gras in years to come , and noticed that Mardi Gras day in the year 2028 (not as far into the future as it sounds) will fall on the Leap Day of a Leap Year, Feb 29th... not sure if thats ever happened before, but it should be extra incentive to party!

Also, in the year 2038, Mardi Gras day will take place on March 9th- which is the latest in the calendar year that Mardi Gras day can ever take place.. so we got that goin’ for us, which is nice.

So as it turns out, i have a little bit of extra time on my hands.. so i did some research.. turns out, unless i missed it- Mardi Gras has never taken place before on a Leap Day (at least not since 1947).. and never on the latest day it can occur, Mar 9th.. and only a couple times on Valentine’s Day.
