Will Jrue Holiday dominate offensively for the first time this season?

The New Orleans Pelicans are in the midst of a four-game home stand and will welcome the Los Angeles Clippers next in about an hour’s time. You can catch the broadcast on Fox Sports New Orleans at 7:00 p.m. Central or listen in over the airwaves at 99.5 FM WRNO.

One would assume at first glance that the Clippers have gotten off to a fine start considering the competition (Nuggets, Thunder and Rockets), but upon closer inspection, their two wins have come against teams off to lousy starts, sharing just one victory in between them.

Lakers and Thunder have both started the 2018-19 campaign with an 0-3 record. In the previous two seasons, a total of eleven teams started 0-3. Only two made the playoffs (2017-18 76ers and 2016-17 Wizards -- both Eastern Conference teams). pic.twitter.com/uCNLqZBZ7Y

Last season, the Pelicans won three of four matchups against the Clippers, including both times the teams met after Nikola Mirotic arrived in New Orleans. What to watch for this time around? All of the scoring columns.

The Pelicans are averaging a league-best 140 points per game, the Clippers a lowly 107 ppg. New Orleans has been hot from the outside (46.4% 3PT%), L.A. has not (30.4 3PT%). If it looks like we’re headed for another scoreboard explosion early, chances are good Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday are going to start the season with a sparkling 3-0 record.
