Will Jahlil Okafor take his spot in the starting lineup?

Within the past hour, the New Orleans Pelicans announced Anthony Davis will be unavailable for tonight’s matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers. He will join Jrue Holiday, E’Twaun Moore and Trevon Bluiett on the sidelines.

It appears the Pelicans have elected to sit Davis today rather than tomorrow against the Phoenix Suns in adhering to the no back to back policy. These two games are the final back-to-back set on the New Orleans regular season schedule.

The last time Davis missed a game (3/8 vs. Toronto Raptors) Jahlil Okafor replaced him in the starting lineup. Okafor didn’t play in the Pelicans last game against the Bucks, but following Thursday’s practice, he said his ankles (both recently suffered sprains) were feeling better after receiving treatment.
