I'm getting fibre installed this weekend, just curious what people use, and why.

Bandwidth, price, latency, and reliability are what matters. Not necessarily in that order. Method of transport matters less.

All things being equal, fiber probably has the most upside but it very expensive to install.

Gigabit cable here and generally happy with it.

So, got fiber installed today, and definitely notice the difference. Online games run smoother and ping is improved. Give fiber a chance, if you haven't tried it. So fast!
