So far they've been a pretty simple indicator of our seasons.
Beat Detroit in the regular season, and the Saints would win at least one playoff game (2009, 2011 and 2017).
Lose to Detroit in the regular season, notsomuch (2014, 2015 and 2016).
Detroit ended up with a winning record in 4 out of those 6 seasons, so it wasn't just as simple as "well of course if we lost to Detroit, it meant we were bad".
This game definitely has a "make or break" feel to it, even though there is still a lot of season left.
