In 80 games outdoors Garcia averages a solid QB rating of 88.7 and 111 TDs to only 49 INTs. That's a little over 2:1 which is more than respectable.
However, in 19 games indoors his numbers falls to 77.6 and his TD:INT drops signifigantly to 25:24.
I really hope Gibbs comes after him and doesn't let him get comfortable. He's a rhythm thrower in a rhythm offense so its imperative we pressure him. If not, our zones will get eaten alive. Reid will look to get him out of the pocket to the right side so he can throw intermediate passes to LJ Smith. I think if we blitz Fujita off the edge and force Garcia to roll the other way, making him throw across his body we'll be successful.
In 3 out of his last 4 games his longest completion has been under 30 yards. Not exactly a big play offense. The last thing I want to see is Tra Thomas, Runyan, and Shawn Andrews paving the way for Westbrook all night. Make Garcia and Hank Baskett beat you...not Westbrook and LJ Smith.
Not sure how much audibling the Eagles do, nonetheless the crowd is going to be a factor. It's going to be a zoo in there as it's the biggest game the Saints have played in their history. One big play (Beerman kick return for TD?) could be what sets off an avalanche of emotion that the Eagles just won't be able to overcome (see 9/25 MNF).
Here's to plenty of drinking and no rain Saturday. And a Saints win.
