Now watching Get Shorty. It's a Travolta piece, but Hackman is excellent, too.

He's great in that movie - his character has this pathetic mess quality about him and Hackman delivers.

This dude was one of my favorite actors. RIP.

And sad that however he went out, it ended up turning into a really ugly situation. He deserved better than that.

It's far from high art, but Hackman plays a great scenery chewing villain in the pulpy Sam Raimi 90s western "The Quick and the Dead."
