Gentoo 2008 (1 Viewer)

I thought that Gentoo specifically did not have boot mounted during run-time?

I guess that's the case. I have to mount it anytime I have to edit grub. No biggie.

I have gnome compiled, but do you know the difference between these packages besides the size?

openoffice-bin are the official binaries straight from the OOo project and openoffice is built from source (and you'll need around 6GB of space for it to build).

Guess I should've went with the binaries to save some time. BTW, there's a bug when compiling OO 2.4. You have to unmerge imagemagick and re-emerge it with version 6.4.0.4.

Next up is compiz-fusion. This has given me problems in the past.

Compiz-fusion and emerald are much harder than they should be. I finally got it working, and don't even know what I did. Just kept stumbling along following threads.
