Was the number one rated free agent guard as recently as 2014. Injuries have derailed his career, but he's only 30, and seems to be a healthy at this time. Just a victim of the numbers game it appears.

And he's not in a Saints uniform yet, why?

Sad state of affairs around here when we are all watching the OL cuts just as much as the team is.
At this point, bringing literally anyone in will help us. This is the worst OL the saints have had in nearly 20 years.

I'd also love to see us to try and make a move for Paul Kruger. He's a good pass rusher who plays both DE and OLB. I remember we tried to make a move for him a few years back when he was a FA, before he signed with Cleveland.

This has to be the exact scenario that the FO was hoping for.

Armstead, Schwartz, Unger, Peat, Strief or
Armstead, Turner (or whomever), Unger, Schwartz, Peat

Either one of those options leaves only one spot that needs help.

Seriously, we could cut 45-55 guys now and just scour the cut lists. It's that bad.

Ooooh man. This one actually sounds like a realistic and serviceable option. Move Peat to LG and plug this guy into RG. Worst case scenario, the injury bug gets him again during season, but at least it would buy a little more time to develop the other options. Best case, he stays healthy and alleviates the biggest hole on offense.

No different than in 2009 when we needed LBs right before preseason ended and we got Fujita.
