Whoa, there, pilgrim, he's gotta clean up Albany first.

All kidding aside, he's got to show cultural and political leadership skills and judgment first.

And the track record for New York City pols, even D.A.'s, especially ethnic religious ones, running for national office isn't too strong. And, all kidding aside, he's almost too intelligent, it would be like having Clinton again in certain respects.

But we could probably do worse. He's one smart son of a gun and he is a bigger fan of big business than his critics probably realize. And a second non-WASP male U.S. president in history would start to break the political ice a little bit.
