Depending on the player.
In this case, Ogletree is only 28. Typically right in a player’s prime.
But coaches are going to have to figure out why his play fell off. I have read that he’s really bad in pass pro. Is that a scheme issue? Or is it something that you can’t work with?
I’ll be curious to see where he goes.
I haven’t watched him much but coming out a Georgia he was a LB/S hybrid and pass pro was one of his strengths. I remember with the Rams he was pretty good at pass pro.
He was probably trying too hard to make plays, to help out that porous defense. Just stick to the fundamentals and instincts. I’m sure he could rebound if surrounded with better talent.Right. And then he fell off a cliff.
Boom-or-bust case of Giants LB Alec Ogletree: Playmaker for pass defense? Or liability?
New York Giants' Alec Ogletree led all NFL linebackers with 5 interceptions and all defensive players with 2 returned for touchdowns in 2018.www.nj.com
That’s what I mean. Some coach is going to have to figure out why.
when in doubt... PEDsRight. And then he fell off a cliff.
