Who likes to lose? Nobody! 😡

But there’s plenty of reasons to look up:

* Winston drove the Saints to a spot for a potential game winning FG. Grupe didn’t miss by much, and that turf wasn’t firm.

* As many have already discussed, AK41 returns next week. That face alone will slow down the pass rush.

* Some of those PI calls were bad breaks; kinda ticky-tacky.

* Let’s make that eleven (11) games in a row that the defense has held opponents to 20 pts or less.

* Shaheed was only targeted twice; that will change.

* Jimmy got some action and a TD.

Do we still have work to do? You bet! But we were only off 18 inches to the right from being 3-0, and atop the NFCS.

Let’s shake it off, and fill up the WhoDat and Frank the Rat rant threads next week!

It's nice to see some encouragement. All I've been seeing is chaos and vitriol.

Carr may be out 4-8 weeks. Buckle up this flight’s about to get turbulent.

There's valid reasons for everybody to be frustrated and concerned but the fact is if we win our division games, we go to the playoffs. Back to back road games and short rest isn't easy. At home against TB, we gotta have that game. And unless TB beats PHI, I ain't impressed with them as a 2-1 team.

No!!
I don't wanna shake it off. This is our team now. We kept Allen and Carmichael.
We have lost too many games like this in the short tenure of Allen's coaching time for the Saints.
This loss is ridiculous, inexcusable, and it hurts like heck.

Basically this.

Today absolutely sucked and I totally get that not everyone can move on quickly from this. I normally can, but after that game I didn’t watch a 3:30 game and I won’t watch tonight. Today gut punched me a little losing Carr and the game. I can’t imagine how the players feel. The NFL is so hard to win games in, to let one slip like that you have to feel like that’s going to cost you at some point.

However, in just a few short days we will be playing for first place.

Do I think we have any shot to be a true SB contender? Naw. But hey, I figured that going in to the year. That we were missing one of the biggest components and that’s an OL, but we can and likely will still win the South.

On the other side of that, man I hate how divided this board gets when JW plays QB. Some just hate him just because they love TH, some like him as a QB just because they want to be able to tell others “we told you”, it’s just exhausting. Winston is an average QB, that we all know. He can be a solid QB but he needs the right scheme and a ton of support and a boatload of protection. We can’t protect anyone right now so the defense will need to continue to carry us for a little longer.

Either way, I hope by middle of the week the board is back to focusing on what’s important. That’s supporting whoever is in the Saints uniform and pulling for a Saints win.

Kamara coming back will help some as far as a match-up weapon but it won't fix the poor line play as far as passing and run blocking goes. I think Kamara return is being over sold as he'll magic fix everything lining up in the back field. It's gonna be a long season if the line doesn't get it together. Any team with s decent defense and quarterback saints will struggle against and most likely lose too.

I believe that Grupe makes that kick waaaaaaaay more times than he will miss in his kicking career. Had that ball not been pushed it was still a beautifully straight ball with plenty of leg. And if it had started on the right line, we’d all be talking right now about how we have as good a chance as any team in the NFC to take the #1 Seed in the playoffs. Yes, as pitiful as our second half was, we were one pushed kick away from being undefeated for the season.

Do I believe we have some work to do to be a solid contender? Most definitely! But after watching so many other good teams bite the dust today, we are a long way off from wanting to tank for Caleb next year.

It was just a very bad day that didn’t go our way.

I agree Bill, we will be fine…I do think we’d left too much time on the clock either way. We will be just fine tho.
