That is, playing down to the level of competition and losing to an inferior team.

lifetime of Saints loyalty still has me waiting for the inevitable proverbial pulling out of the rug from under me

There is a real danger of becoming emotionally involved in this team like with the Saints and really losing it when they lose and not just being happy with a win but mad at how they almost lost! Of course, there's more games in a season to work with but right now it's just straight up enjoyable to have a team that win or lose doesn't make you chew off all your fingernails or watch the TV through your hands like you're watching a scary movie.

WAY OFF TOPIC: Jonesy77, I think you're gonna get more cowbell this weekend, no? Walken's on for his, what, 51st, 52nd time to host?

No, I didn't know he was on this weekend. I doubt they'll do cowbell. That would be a huge dishonor to the late, great, fictional Gene Frenkle

The Hornets actually have been playing down to opposing team's levels.. it's just impossible to get to the Heat's level.

the Dolphins would destroy the Heat even in basketball

Well to be fair, the Heat would probably return the favor in football. Miami really is just a giant black hole of sports sucktitude at the moment. At least they have Parcells and Riley.

Miami is hurting everywhere and have to recover from losing Shaq, Their season was over when both Shaq and Wade went down, so lets not clown the team that actually had a recent championship because we are having a good year for the first time in a long time, Miami is traditionally good.

their season was over when shaq and wade were both on the team.:hihi:

The hornets are traditionally good.

dont worry the saints are the only team that will ever consistently play down to the competition. thats why they are the Saints. Every time I get in "here we go again" Saints mode while watching the Bees.....I just remind myself.....Oh yea they arent the Saints. THANK GOD! Repeat that 3 or 4 times and im fine. Now if they can actually win more than 1 playoff game/series, they really arent the Saints! ;)

Umm Hornets have never won a Championship, Maimi heat has (with the great "SHAQ" and "Wade" on the roster).

I can't believe people here have that bad of memory, without those two on the team they wouldn't have gotten anything.

Thats like critics say about Reggie Bush and the saints, he didn't do anything last year mostly because of aggravating injuries he played through on but in 2006 he "YES REGGIE BUSH" was one the reasons we went within one game from the Superbowl, he's a serious weapon and a threat and will remain to be at least for another couple of years as he hone in his skill level for the pro's.

Hornets are a good team to getting into the playoffs but they always made a quick exit, i hope it changes but with a young team like we have i doubt we'll see a championship at least for the next 2 years, im perfectly fine with us being good enough to get the title and into the playoffs if we can some how some way bring all this momentum to the big game i'll be very surprised and happy.
