He's on an agenda of his own making. There's no outside force or pressure for his actions. He and he alone believes that the league should be for sissy little wimps that are too fragile to endure blows that could paralyze them or lead to brain injuries that could jeopardize their health for the rest of their lives.

It's no fun to watch football for fantastic athletic speed and agility; to see men jump and spin and grab the ball out of the air as they make a fantastic catch for a touchdown. It's not fun trying to wish that someone could be like Barry and juke and spin their way out of impossible positions to break free highlight film style. And what fun is a cornerback stealing that ball away and running it back for a TD? Ditto a rainbow bomb to a streaking WR for a TD; or a jump ball for Jimmy in the endzone. What? that's fun? Hog wash!

Nothing will be the same until we get some Jack Tatum-like paralyzing blows. If we don't get to watch that cart take a man off the field with his neck in a brace and his team mates praying for his health what good is this league?
Bunch of wimps and sissies, that's what they are.

Goodell is full of crap, he says he wants the game safe for our players, but yet he is changing the game where there is high risks of injuries......

I just dont understand why the NFL doesnt implement a contract when you enter the league that states you cant sue them unless as part of the nflpa. No individual can sue the league, most every company on earth has this policy in place.
Players know what they are signing up for, if they fear being hurt, they dont have to play.. simple as that, no need to keep changing the game until it is unwatchable.

So when is this "new football league," the one that has players sign waivers before they step foot on a field, going to happen ? The Saints need a new football league to play in cos the current one is broken and not to be trusted anyway

So make them sign a Waiver that says the NFL is not responsible for Post retirement cognitive disorders of any kind.

and that's that
In most places, you can not waive a claim for personal injuries. Yes, people make and sing them, but they are virtually worthless. All they do is make it less likely that people will sue, since people like you don't know that they are worthless, and provide some evidence that the person was warned of the risk of personal injury.

I said: no need to keep changing the game until its unwatchable....

see those key words like: keep and until!?
That means if they continue to legislate the violence out of the game it will become unwatchable.. every year they are making the game less like the game I grew up playing and watching..

Actually there is the concussion suit working in the courts now that could affect the NFL more than anything Goodell may do.

...says the guy who is not in charge of a league currently being sued by former players due to their injuries.

The same league that makes Billions in profits each year....yes. It is their own damn fault they didnt cover their rear ends when they had the chance, but instead sold out for more profits.

Keep going down this road, i am going to switch to watching more manly sports like Soccer and Diving...at least i will get to see some sort of contact.

Even if the NFL would find a way to protect itself from law suits it would not solve the bigger problem the league is facing. It's that parents might not allow their kids to play football if more studies come out that show how dangerous football is. There's a reason why Obama got asked if he would allow his son to play football if he had one and if players like Scott Fujita say they won't allow their kids to play the game (“If I had a son, f–k no I would never let him play football! And this is my journey my wife and I decided to take on. But I wouldn’t want that for one of my kids. No way in hell!”) you know how big the problem is.
