TORONTO -- Suddenly Brendan Taman has more to worry about than the prospect of offensive tackle Dan Goodspeed signing with another CFL team.
The six-foot-six, 315-pound tackle anchored a solid Winnipeg Blue Bombers offensive line that paved the way for stellar running back Charles Roberts and surrendered a league-low 27 sacks. Goodspeed is slated to become a free agent at 12:01 a.m. ET on Saturday and while Taman continues to talk with the '07 CFL all-star about returning to Manitoba, he could soon find himself battling the NFL's New Orleans Saints for Goodspeed's services.
Goodspeed was in New Orleans on Wednesday for a workout with the NFL team. That's important because Goodspeed needs to play in just one more NFL game to become eligible for a full pension after having played previously with Washington, Tampa Bay, San Francisco and New York Jets.
