Not a funny situation at all but I thought this comments was kinda funny.
"Hell, it's not even in the lower Garden District. Most likely though, the house is about 100 years old and made of wood. This will be resolved quickly."
Richard Scearce, 59, reached on his home phone, said, "I'm old, fat and crippled. I'm not going out on the streets to live. Let them come get me."
Craig Tolbert, Scearce's landlord, said the 59-year-old typically paid his rent. He didn't pay it this month, for whatever reason, and "knew it was coming," Tolbert said.
A little whacked in the head, but yep. He's probably going to be charged with criminal damage to property (doing any kind of damage to someone else's private property), arson (the fire itself), and aggravated assault (firing the gun into the street).great. so the gunman is also safe apparently?
