The ligament requires about six weeks to heal, according to Dr. Brandon P. Donnelly of Pontchartrain Orthopedics and Sports Medicine – but that doesn’t mean Drew Brees would be immediately cleared to play:

Maybe Drew can combine the platelet rich plasma along with that Snake oil that Tom Brady takes? I’m sure that would get him back in a few weeks

well i look at it this way, if brees can have normal hand function he doesnt need to be able to throw beyond 15-20 yard passes and that could help get him on the field quicker.

if he "needed" to throw accurate 30-40 yard passes that could be an issue

i think a less accurate short passing game drew is still good enough for us to win until he fully heals 100%

maybe but if you don't throw anything 30 yards occasionally you wont see anything open in the 10 yard range.

I say he misses 4 games and back for the fifth with a glove on, he just needs it to heal just enough for him to grip the ball and have them shoot it up. We will be 3-3 and 1 game back in the division with TAYSOM HILL at QB.

I think he returns after the BYE to play the Falcons by any means necessary... that alone will be a feat.
If the Saints can win a minimum of 1 game until he gets back, the Saints will still have a shot at the playoffs and the division.

I'm sure we all wished nothing bad happened to Drew and he recovers quickly. All we can hope for is adequate offensive play with no turnovers and rabid defensive play that generates turnovers. It's time for DOMEPATROL II
