N/S Hard Knocks: Training Camp With The Detroit Lions (1 Viewer)

You might not want too see N.O on Hard Knocks. I remember something about each team thats been on there not making the playoffs that season after film shooting is done
Yeah I have seen that stat, I know it’s bad for our team that’s why I said selfishly lol. I still would love to see it. A tad less now that Sean is gone.

I'm actually rooting for them this season. You have to start somewhere and I hope they beat the Vikings twice. Lastly, Dan Campbell is super entertaining, I see why he was highly sought after.

Eh, the Hard Knocks "curse" is a bit overblown.

Teams that made the playoffs after doing Hard Knocks...
  • 2001 Ravens (10-6, won Wild Card, lost Divisional)
  • 2009 Bengals (10-6, lost Wild Card)
  • 2010 Jets (11-5, won Wild Card and Divisional, lost AFC Championship)
  • 2013 Bengals (11-5, lost Wild Card)
  • 2015 Texans (9-7, lost Wild Card)
  • 2020 Rams (10-6, won Wild Card, lost Divisional)
  • 2021 Cowboys (12-5, lost Wild Card)
Teams that missed the playoffs after doing Hard Knocks...
  • 2002 Cowboys (5-11, fired HC after season))
  • 2007 Chiefs (4-12)
  • 2008 Cowboys (9-7, were 8-4 before losing 3 of their last 4)
  • 2012 Dolphins (7-9)
  • 2014 Falcons (6-10, fired HC after season)
  • 2016 Rams (4-12, fired HC mid-season)
  • 2017 Buccaneers (5-11)
  • 2018 Browns (7-8-1, fired HC mid-season)
  • 2019 Raiders (7-9, started 6-4 before losing 5 of their last 6)
  • 2020 Chargers (7-9, fired HC after season)
As you can see, half the teams that missed the playoffs after participating on Hard Knocks ended up firing their HC either mid-season or after the conclusion of the season and without looking deeper, I'd wager those teams were more than likely equally bad the previous season or 2 before they did Hard Knocks.

🤔 I did not know that. Ty for taking the time to put that together.

Thoroughly entertained. This team believes in Campbell and his staff. Dan is a very vocal coach too, it takes talent, smarts and respect to get players to rally behind this kind of coach in 2022. Also a small chance to peak behind the NFL curtain. More often than not fans think they know, but they don't know. While it's redacted and likely orchestrated, you still get a peak at what happens in private settings, rather than guessing and pretending to know.
