He and an African American PhD are going at it for the second time in less than a week. Should make for some great late-night TV.

I dont necesarrily agree with all things harry lee but he kicks so much butt he deserves an olympic medal. He doesnt care about pc either and I respect that.

I must have missed it. Was it entertaining?

Yes it was. The doctor basically trashed Lee the whole time. He brought up how Lee and others supported David Duke over 17 years ago and anytime Lee made a point about something he'd bring up how they wouldn't let the people cross the bridge after Katrina. The doctor didn't like him saying the majority of crime is black on black, but Lee said it is what it is. When he showed the doctor the stats to prove it, he just kept bringing up the bridge incident again. Anytime Harry Lee is on tv it's more entertaining than Leno or Letterman that night.

Not that i'm a Lee-hater, but I do believe that the Bridge incident was one of the more embarrassing and disgraceful events in recent American history.

Where were those folks going to go? The only buses leaving the city were located on the eastbank. Parts of Highway 90 were flooded so there was no way buses could reach them even if they did cross the bridge. The westbank had no food or water for those people. There was no reason for them to cross the bridge. All evacuations were taking place on the eastbank.

Harry Lee was trying to protect his Jefferson Parish residents as he was elected to do from getting pillaging and looting. There were no supplies or shelters for these people on the West Bank of Jefferson Parish. He knew what these people roaming the streets were doing in Orleans Parish and wanted to protect his residents and their property. I really have no problem with that. Everyone is really blaming the wrong person. Mr. Nagin did not have an evacuation plan for these people therefore that is why they were in the position they were in. So the way I see it the reason these people were stranded was because of Orleans Parish governments inability to take care of their residents and they still re-elected him. We see how much recovery Nagin is doing now.

I don't believe for one second the police on that bridge shot at innocent civilians. These same cops could have abandoned their posts like so many New Orelans cops....but they didn't. Why would the police shoot for no reason? I wasn't there and I know there are bad cops in the world, but I can't imagine these officers (as a group) deciding it was time for a massacre in the midst of a crisis. Looks to me some stubborn thugs weren't gonna take "no" for an answer that tragic day......

I salute Harry Lee. We need more people in authority with balls to act as he does....
