Have inactives been announced yet? (1 Viewer)

Sir, I commend you for showing up first and foremost. I admit I was wrong on some things as I wrote some of it with frustration(something you should never do), but I whole heartily believe other than us packing it in, stand by us finishing 7-9, I admit I was wrong about who played and who didn't. I really believe that we will beat the cardinals next week, I will even go to Atlantis Resort and Casino (Nassau, Bahamas) and place a 100 dollar bet. Might as well profit from this lost season.

Fair enough. I understanding the posting out of frustration. It can happen to any of us. I try my best to not post directly after a game and usually not until preparations are well in effect for the next game to avoid erratic rants to the best of my ability.

It's completely off putting to just give up on the team while there is (was) still a quarter of the season left to be played at the time. That's where I believe a lot of the negative feedback directed at you stemmed from, as did my usage of the Gollum gif. Nothing personal of course, it just felt like your post was a shot at the team that was about to go out there and do battle to start the last quarter of the season, in a game they ended up performing admirably for the most part. The only real downer was the offense sputtering most of the game and having trouble to get rolling as we've come accustomed to.

I just hate the thought of a team "mailing it in" or "tanking for draft position". I've posted in multiple threads on that topic of it being a "loser's mentality" that you then have to overcome. The same team we played today has gone through that exact thing since their Super Bowl win in 2002-03. I looked at the numbers a few months ago but I believe the Bucs have finished 4th or 3rd in the division nearly every year since 2003 with the exception of like 2-3 years or so on top of having a top 5 pick like 5 of the last 7 seasons or something like that. It's insane, yet seeing our fans cheering to tank and possibly end up in that same exact situation of an endless pit of despair, it's infuriating. Seeing other fans quit like that can be toxic, not only for other fans that are holding out hope, but it can spread even to the team. We've had many players' families post on the forum over time, how do you think the players respond to their family and friends telling them all the things they read on here from us (whether they be emotionally-fueled or not) that we've quit and are hoping they lose the rest of the season? Not only on here but I'm sure some posters have sat near family and friends of players at the games as I have. I'm sure they share those stories of the experiences they have among just us fans.

I certainly do hope we beat the Cardinals; I hope we run the table, really. The only thing that makes this season a little better would be to split with Tampa and try and knock the Falcons down in the seeding at the same time. Draft position be damned. There will be a stud there for us at our pick, that I'm confident about. We've seen that with Rankins so far this year, yet people were ticked off last year beating the Jaguars and Falcons in Week 16 and 17. But let's play these three games and let the chips fall as they may, then worry about that come April for the draft.
