Heard of a Navy guy that bought an impounded gang bangers tricked out ride, was driving around Oakland, and was confused for the original owner. They shot him dead in the car. Oops.

I'm thinking of buying this thing just to resell. If you can get it for $1000, it can sell for $8-9k easy. These little cars are expensive.

Are you handy with cars? If so, I think you could probably get a decent daily driver or commuter car for a good price.

This statement got me though 'This is an Auto Impound Auction. The working condition of the vehicles are unknown and are sold without keys.

Yep. They were probably towed. Once you have the vin you can go to a dealer and order keys. No big deal.
