HennessyROB's "Casino Royale" Review (1 Viewer)

I don't get why so many people hated Craig before the movie was even made? Who cares if he's blonde, and a dirty blonde at that? Shows that you whould wait and see.

Am I the only person that wasn't that impressed?

No, but you're definitely one of the few.

Personally, I thought it was the best James Bond movie ever. I enjoyed every last second of it and left the theater with a smile on my face....I'm not sure if that has ever happened..at least lately. It was a long movie that didn't feel long.

Best line:
"The whole world will know you died scratching my balls"

For those that say it didn't feel like a "Bond" film, this movie was about how James Bond becomes the man we all know and love....a prequel/reboot if you will. I ask you to please stick around for Bond 22 in 2008. Things should be a little more familiar in that one.

There was a gadget:
The defibrillator in the Aston Martin

There was a slightly sexual name for Vesper:
Stephanie Broadchest

Well, people have problems with change...Daniel was a BIG change. He did the right thing though and fed off the criticism and totally took 007 to a whole new, BELIEVABLE level.

Hmmm.......I will have to rewatch a couple of my favorite Bonds.....but this one was definitly the one that I was most "in" to.

Craig has an amazing presence on the screen. He owned that movie.

Saw it today with my son (Saints not on local broadcast). Definitely two thumbs up from both of us.

The opening foot chase was pretty incredible and I felt the pain - but I REALLY felt the pain in the torture scene. I will never sit in a cain chair and not think of that...whew!

The movie was long but it didn't seem that long. When I thought it was over the last twist added about 30 more minutes which were still good.

As many have noted it wasn't the typical Bond movie but I really enjoyed it and kept engaged with it the whole time. This is "pre" 007 for him and not until the end did he make the transistion. And Craig is no pansy bond like Brosnan.

Good movie...I would have liked some more gadgets and scenery though.

Glad that you liked it.

As with other film and cartoon action heroes, producers are moving towards "prequels", and Ian Fleming's first and perhaps best Bond book is a way for the Broccoli family to re-establish the character in terms of which fleming would have preferred. I think the invisible car in the last movie was the epiphany for Albert Broccoli's son and daughter. Plus, Eva Green was not going to appear in a potential career-killer if she was simply another stereotypical Bond girl. The Latina in this movie fulfilled that function. I liked it.

Am I the only person that wasn't that impressed? I mean, it was a good action movie but it just didn't feel like Bond. The bad guy was lame beyond belief. He was more scared of the other bad guys than Bond.

I think that was kind of the point, especially with the ending; there are always more bad guys to kill and boss has a boss.

saw the movie last night and loved it.

If you'd like to see more of Eva Green, turn off the filter on google images.

I'm going to watch it again when it hits DVD. It must just be me because I have yet to talk to a single other person who didn't like it. Maybe there was a rock in my shoe or something...

I loved it.

It's the Bond version of Batman Begins, stripping away all the cartoonish aspects of the series and starting over with a grittier, more realistic (relatively speaking) vision.

I'm interested to see if they can bring Q back into it - there's still room for comic relief, but not sure that I see Craig and John Cleese hamming it up together. More like Craig beating the tar out of Cleese when he tries to hold back the good stuff.

I think Dan can handle it.
