If ever there was an NFL season to have a stable football operation, a proven, deep-rooted head coach and a veteran roster liberally sprinkled with Pro Bowl-caliber players, the COVID-19 challenged season of 2020 is the one.
I present the New Orleans Saints.
Truth be told, the three-time defending NFC South champions are among eight to 10 teams that should have a notable advantage over nearly two dozen teams still trying to find their sea legs in this pandemic world.
With so many important questions still unanswered less than two weeks until training camp, I dare say Saints coach Sean Payton might be relatively comfortable picking his Week 1 starters and 53-man roster without the benefit of a preseason game.
