The only thing that would satisfy me is if the NFL issued the following statement: “Cmon does anyone really believe that having a small market team like NO in the Super Bowl is better for the league than generating more interest in the NFL in the second largest market in the country. We ask that you refrain from putting any blame on the two officials who “missed the call” as they were specifically chosen from the pool of Los Angeles area refs who we could count on to stick to our plan thereby increasing revenues for the league as a whole. We’d like to apologize to the New Orleans Saints, the city and their great fans for this miscarriage of justice. We hope they can understand that they were not singled out as they just happened to be the small market team in this instance and that over time they will come to understand that this was done for the good of the league as a whole which has come under attack due to its lack of concern over safety issues in the game. We also want to thank you again for accepting the bountygate penalties which allowed us to show public concern for the safety of our players and played a big part in our legal battle with ex players. We want to wish you the best of luck in all future endeavors unless it comes at the expense of one of our larger market teams.”
