I just watched the video......I put it off, because I didn't think I wanted to see a man die. Horrific!!!! I'm at a loss for words.
The only positive that can come out of this situation is that this incident is so over the top, so wrong, that white Americans will be disgusted enough to speak out and acknowledge what is clearly a problem in this country. While I do not condone the rioting and lawlessness, I can understand it. It must be very different to look at the world through a black man's lens. I'm ashamed that I spoke out against Kapernick for taking a knee.
There is a lot I don't know about the case to be able to answer that. But as a man I could not live with myself if I stood by and did nothing!Should they be charged as accessories?
Thats not true. We hold officers accountable all the time. I myself have arrested 2 officers. Not all , or most departments have these issues. 99% of officers are good men and womenMy question for you is why do you think they didn't? This isn't the only officer that makes the police look bad and its a rare thing that other officers hold them accountable. I could show at least ten videos from yesterday alone of officers acting completely inappropriately and only one has another officer stopping them.
Cool.Thats not true. We hold officers accountable all the time. I myself have arrested 2 officers. Not all , or most departments have these issues. 99% of officers are good men and women
And you ask how will some white people look past it this time? We already see it happening, by allowing those that profit or feed off hatred convincing enough white people to focus their anger on the symptoms(the protests, rioting etc.) and not the disease producing the symptoms(institutional and cultural racism). It’s not all that different from the playbook used to discredit Kaep, I just hope more like yourself can now recognize that playbook for what it is.
Wow. Man, THANK YOU FOR ACKNOWLEDGING THAT! You have NO idea how frustrating it was to try to explain this to people and have them hem, haw, and deflect basically defending white supremacy without SAYING they were defending white supremacy.I just watched the video......I put it off, because I didn't think I wanted to see a man die. And what were those arrests for? Were they for crimes off duty? Fraud? Domestic abuse? Because I somehow doubt they stemmed from the day to day acts of policing that gets out of hand and no one says anything. Were all 4 of those cops coincidentally the bad ones in Minn? Or was it a single bad cop and 3 good ones who said nothing? Or was it 4 good ones that were doing what they were trained to do? What about the hundreds of cops who have witnessed non-proportional force over the last few days and don't stop their comrades in the midst? I work with cops and I can tell you it's not an individual issue for the most part. It's the us vs them culture promoted within the units. Why do the 99% of good cops not stop the ones shooting at journalists, the ones knocking the stuffing out of folks yelling at them, hosing a crowd with pepper spray indiscriminately out of moving vehicles or attempting to run over protesters today? I have yet to see that happen in those instances. Cops have been the instigators far more than the protesters and are throwing gas on a fire with their over aggressive tactics.Thats not true. So when are we going to find out why a cop with 20 complaints in the past was allowed to still be on the force or at the very least, not assigned to a desk job? This guy seems to be a hothead unfit for the job. One or another should have happened. The higher ups of the department screwed up bad here.
