I need some help. I want to get my mom an excellent bottle of scotch for Christmas. It has kind of become a tradition and I was looking to really do a good job this year since she has had a rough month and a half after having her knee replaced. Any suggestions? Price, within reason, is no problem.

Some of my favorites are Macallan and Knockando.

there are others here with better experience in that area than I and tastes vary, but if you want to venture out of the standard Glenfiddich, Glenlevit, etc; I like Laphroaig, Talisker and Macallan. If you want to go mac daddy, I had a glass of Macallan 25 year old that was out of this world. but you're looking at over $200 for that, I'd imagine.
