Horrible pick. He went in the 2nd round and didn't look good at all in Atlanta last year. Why would we now take him in the 1st round?

Flame away, but Meachem was a good pick. We need young playmakers at WR. As of right now we have Colston and a 4th string deep threat.

I wouldn't have minded trading it to the 49er's for their 1st this year and picked up the extra 4th then. Imagine what we could do with the 10 & 7th picks??? DT for sure. And our pick of CB's too! Too expensive? We could easily trade down with anyone and still have a top 10 selection. But that is just MHO.

Would have actually needed to move to #10 (where Houston picked) as San Francisco loved Willis after working him out at the senior bowl. If Ellis is sitting there at #10 and the Saints are high on him, would we trade down to #27 with San Diego hypothetically? Of course not. Moving that far up would have taken essentially our entire draft or 1st round pick this year

My point....it was never going to happen. They couldnt have realistically jumped/traded up and drafted Willis.

But i wouldnt have minded reading the "trade Reggie Bush and swap draft picks" theory....for a good laugh.

I know the point you were trying to make. As much as I loved Willis last year I was just accentuating your point. If we had to re-do the 1st round I would have taken who I wanted at the time - Ben Grubbs. I'd rather have Meachem than Chris Houston though
