Homemade Bar Project (1 Viewer)

I've always wanted to be slid down a bar face first through pint glasses, like in an old timey western bar fight. Certainly looks like this one could accomodate. :9:

Sweet!!! That looks fantastic! :9:

Will it hold up in out hot/humid climate? Where did you get the pecky cypress???

I've always wanted to be the bartender that pulls out his shotgun, points it at the idiot sliding down my bar face-first into pint glasses, and also at the idiot who slid him there, and say "get the hell outta my bar with that!!"

Like in old-timey etc etc.

:hihi:

I've always wanted Marlene Dietrich to watch me beat up Randolph Scott in a saloon destroying bar fight.

Thanks.

I'll look into it. I need something for the top coat with a good UV protectant. I have a good spar uerthane I was going to use. But I'll look into that too.

I don't think you can use Awl Grip as a top coat over urethane. ICBW. All I know is that I have a boat full of teak and that I'm never going to sand and oil it again since I learned about clear awl grip.

It's a good bit of work, but once you've got the oil off of the surface of teak or cumaru or other exotic woods, you can spray it with a couple coats of AG and it will last for years.

I used to have to send my teak parts from the fighting chair on the boat off every couple years for major dollars and have them refinished. A $90 spray gun, some thinner and a trip to auto quest and I can make it look like glass.

Looking at the quality of the work you've done, I'm sure it's not going to tax your abilities and might save you some time.

Still, awesome work. You should be proud.

Well, I've always wanted to toss, be tossed, break and be broken on a bar.

It all sounds like fun.

Good times start when something gets broken, right?

I made a pine box derby car when I was in the 3rd grade. Suddenly doesn't seem as impressive as it did 15 minutes ago. Now it's coming down off the mantle. Thanks a lot.

Umm 2 questions, what are the bar hours, and is there a kitchen?
