..think about this ..this is our coaches first year this team really is now just "jelling" as a team....we have a new offense these guys are just now getting the whole offense....buy the way we are the number one offence in the leauge...think about next year when these guys have time to get to now each other better...our defence over the last half of the year has really come together without a few starters.. a few free agents and a whole offseason to get settled in the area and get more comfortable with each other and i really could see that the Saints could become the pride of the NFC.....I guess what i am trying to say is that this year we are doing great but heck we have a young, young team, a smart, smart coach, once these guys play together for a whose season and learn how each other thinks we could be the next great dynasty....

"could"?????? Are. 9 - 5 is rather good to me. I see yoour point, but don't forget to enjoy this season too.

I started watching this season as pure entertainment. I wasn't going to allow it to get to me, or to affect me on any kind of emotional level.

As the season has progressed, and I've seen this team grow together, I must admit that my plan of just watching for entertainment was slowly being whittled away by what I was seeing.

First, it was the coaching. I suddenly realized that we actually had an innovative coach and staff. The coach was calling plays that were actually effective against the opposition. The assistant coaches had somehow pulled together a rag-tag group of newbies, shuffled them around and came up with an offensive line that has jelled and come together faster than any I have seen before.

The assistant coaches took a defeated and abused defense that has gotten few additions this year and somehow molded a unit that has been a little more than adequate and has helped propel us to a record that not many thought we could achieve including myself.

The offseason additions made by Loomis and the organization have shown an insight that hasn't been seen in these parts since the inception of the team. A quality head coach, who has been fortunate to assemble a fantastic staff that I for one hope remains intact for years to come, and not only replacing players that were problems on this team but replacing them with better talent and character.

As the season has unfolded, we have seen some truly incredible things transpire. We signed possibly the best QB this team has ever had and that's saying a lot since we had Archie Manning, and got rid of Aaron Brooks who doesn't really know who he is. We had arguably the best player in the draft fall into our laps with the second overall pick in Reggie Bush, who everyone thought was going to be the biggest pickup in the draft this year. Then, right before the season started, we traded a former 1st round pick and deep threat WR Donte Stallworth to Philly and replace him with, believe it or not, a 7th round pick in Marques Colston who has gone on to produce even better for us, and also wound up getting our starting MLB, Mark Simoneau.

Most teams might not even get this far in recounting the players that have helped them this season, but we can go even farther. We drafted our starting S, Roman Harper who has gone down with injury, but have not skipped a beat. We drafted an up and coming DE in Rob Ninkovich who also went down to injury and we are still the 12th ranked defense. We have been deprived of another offseason defensive player that has constantly demanded double teaming by our opponents in Hollis Thomas and we still have won our division and are advancing towards the playoffs.

Granted, we have not been dominant on defense and this is supposedly where championships are won, but we don't have any pressing needs offensively that would keep us from addressing all of our problems on defense this offseason. If we do, we will be tough to beat for years to come.

It's very similar to the 2000 team. Hopefully this team can be more than a one year wonder.

This team haven't even reached it's peak yet. The Dallas game was as good as it gets.
They put together a couple of wins and just blow out there opponents convincingly I say they have reached there peak. Until then this is just a solid team who can play with any one in the league.
