A good lawyer might be able to cause trouble.
There has been trouble in the past, although it is rare. The Mexican Supreme Court has ruled that extradition be conditioned on the promise that no life sentence will be given. Since a Judge, or jury, decides terms of punishment in the United States no such assurance can be given.

its not the death penalty I am talking about. Its a sentence without the possibility of parole.
