How many times have you been to the Superdome? (1 Viewer)

Probably at least a dozen Saints games.
96 SEC Tournament
Tulane - Southern Miss game in 92

Considering I live 700 miles away.....think thats pretty good! ;)

Another different type of event I forgot...the Endymion Extravaganza.

Also went to the state HS championships many times because my dad always liked HS football better than college or pro.

I didn't miss a game in the Dome from 1988-2018 (31 years minus 2005 one preseason game) 301 then 9 playoff games so thats 310. Then I would guess an average of at least three times a year during that time.... car shows, wrestling, concerts ect
give or take 400 times. which isn't bad considering im a year older than the Dome.

I would say a little over 100. Mostly Saints games, but also the Night, Tulane, Rummel, Jazz, Super Fair, Supercross, Monster Trucks, circus, lunch, Sugar Bowl, Sugar Bowl Basketball tournament, New Orleans Bowl, and of course The Super Mass. I don't remember ever going to a concert in the dome unless you count U2 and Green Day for the reopening on Monday night.

Besides the concerts that i mentioned that I worked as security in college, the only actual concert i can remember attending as a spectator in the Dome was Paul McCartney in 1993.. 5th row seats, we had a Beatle practically sweating on us... We had to camp out for the tickets, back when waiting ‘online’ meant that you were literally waiting in a physical line of people .. I knew we had good seats when we were waiting for the show to start and i turned around to see the then-head coach of the Saints , Jim Mora, sitting *behind* us... Still a top three night of my life.

Well over 150 times. My top 5 are our first playoff win the reopening and Prince on the purple reign tour. The next 2 would be the day of rock in the dome concerts back in the late 70’s early 80’s. Oh I also got kicked out of the dome during a truck and tractor pull event. I was waiting on my wife who was attending a class that day in Kenner so we were just going to meet in the dome. I was sitting in my seat but looking over my shoulder for her. Then this clown started yelling at me saying I was staring at his girlfriend. We exchanged a few words and the next thing I know security was there telling me I had to leave. They escorted me out and this short little guy wanted to put a cherry on it and pushed me when I got to the door. I wish I could say that I punched him in the face but knew better. This was way before cellphones so my wife found out afterwards that I had been kicked out.

700 times. At least.

I worked at Entergy, so I parked in the Dome 5 days a week for years. Ate lunch there. Been to more events than I can count. Saints games, Tulane games, Jazz games, baseball games, concerts - you name it.

I even got "arrested" in there. The students stormed the field after Tulane went undefeated under Shaun King. I think it was 1998. We charged the field, tried to pull down the goal posts. Cops came out - some on horseback - rounded is up, marched us into the lockups. We stewed in there for an hour or so, until one of the deans showed up and chewed us out.

"You idiots just cost Tulane $14,000 in fines!" There was a long pause, dead silence. Then he said ".... and it was worth every penny!!! Let them all go!"

I'm like many it's too many to count. I do remember the first time though. It was a basketball game between the Jazz and
Washington Bullets. It came down to a shooting contest between Pistol Pete and Bullets guard Phil Chenier. The Jazz won.
If memory serves me correct, Pete scored 50 and Chenier scored 44.

As for first memories, it was a Tulane - Rice game in the late 80s. You got free tickets if you collected the stickers from Chiquita bananas. I may have been in the dome prior to that, but I remember "earning" those tickets with the banana stickers.
