It's funny, 'cause it's true. The media gives Manning this award every year, even when someone else clearly had a better season. They have to to validate their own claims that he is the best, because they know that when it comes to winning a big game, he's gonna choke. So they give him the award, and then point to it as proof that he's the best.
It'd be like if my son was perpetually a "F" student, but had his friend give him a "student of the year" award. Then when I get mad about his grades, he says "but dad, I've won student of the year 6 times."
