Since it's looking like Chase Daniel won't be coming back, should the Saints look for a cheap backup in free agency or grab a QB in the middle rounds of the draft?

Since we are looking for young backups that may be free soonish, I may think Colt McCoy.I really would not like to draft a QB, specially this year, but if that is the case, maybe Matt Scott from Arizona.

Canfield? :covri:

I think we sign a vet to be backup. Bring in UDFA's for camp. Then we draft Drew's eventual successor (with a higher draft pick) in the 2015 draft or so.

Sign a vet. I think McCown is a FA if we want someone who has experience in our system. Unless a QB we can't pass up on is there in the mid-late rounds I would sign a UDFA to compete. We have too few draft picks this year to be drafting QBs.

I wouldn't mind McCoy. Smart player, they say he is undersized...remind you of someone? LOL

I think Chase will return just not a big priority right now........remember he also holds for field goals. i think he gives us the best value for the buck as a backup
