Hypothetical: If we're 2-4 and lose to Denver on national TV, is DA fired? (1 Viewer)

Curious to see everyone's opinion, I know that every team deals with injuries, but this team is playing undisciplined football. If Shaheed doesn't try to make a hero play on the punt return, we win that game.
Nope. Nor should they. It will be after the season

We'll stick with DA this year, no matter what. Fire someone mid-season is not the way the Saints handle things. I also don't blame the loss yesterday on DA. You don't touch a punt inside your own 5. You just don't do that. No clue was Shaheed was thinking in this moment ... probably nothing. We control the whole game without this. The Defense gave up 9 points and 3 of them came throug a 58 yd field goal. You can't expect better results from any defense in the NFL.
That said, I do blame the loss against Philly on DA. Man coverage at 3rd and 16 is just stupid. That's on him. But without seeing 3 guys crashing in each other and without Shaheed touching that punt we're sitting pretty at 4-0. The margin of error in the NFL is just too small to overcome such things. That's the painful truth.

I sure hope they fire DA.Ive wonder why they hired him in the first place, 8 wins as a HC and Mickey Loomis hired him, did I mention Loomis needs to be fired Too!!

Anyone who thinks this is even a possibility hasn’t been paying much attention to the last few years. Mickey Loomis isn’t ever going to fire a HC mid season.

If we miss the playoffs then I expect Allen will be fired. That would be 3 years of no playoffs having changed the QB and coaching staff multiple times. There would only be the HC left to change.

The NFL has given the Denver game on a silver platter, but SP is good enough to take that platter and shove it in Loomis’ face.

SP has to travel across country on a Thursday to play here. If DA loses that game, then he should be fired, but he won’t.

We will lose to the Chiefs no doubt about it, but we are not losing to the Yucs or Broncos! If we get a little healthy we will rip off 4 or 5 in a row.

The way Loomis is those first two weeks bought DA 2 more years unless we lose out

However, some of you are overreacting. The Saints are still better than anyone without blinders on thought they’d be.

The Saints will not fire him during the season. They just don't do that. If the Saints go 8-9, 9-8, he unfortunately stays. If they go 7-10, his proverbial leash will tighten. Anything 6-11 and below, I think his chances dramatically increase the less wins they have. 6-11 = 50% chance he's fired, 5-12 = 60% chance he's fired and so on. It will come down to wins and the optics. Losing AND an empty Superdome or filled with visiting fans, he's out.

Absent a 64-0 loss and a player revolt, there is no chance. In fact, my sense on Airline Highway is that the prevailing opinion is that the Saints should be 3-1, if not undefeated, and that the team is playing to its talent level. I am still stunned that we had for two years Pete Carmichael had offensive coordinator, but that was finally corrected.

I am not a Dennis Allen fan and have been less enamored by the job he does as defensive coordinator than some. And I am certainly not a Mickey Loomis fan. But the team is at least playing hard. Though I share the concerns over how we play defense in the final moments of games and would like to see us blitz more often than we do, I see the problem right now as a lack of overall talent rather than bad coaching.

Nope, Mickey Loomis keeps people for years longer than he should just for the sake of doing it. Unless we finish the season 4-13 or something like that nothing will change. Carr will continue to be our underwhelming QB and DA will still be here to make sure the defense collapses at the end of any close game.

Why do you want Dennis Allen fired? He is doing a great job! What do you want him to do?? He has Taysom to deal and offensive line injuries to deal with. We also have some bad luck as well. Just hold on. We are not going 2-4 anyway. There is nobody in the NFC or NFL for that matter we cannot beat.

Sadly, we will be stuck with DA and his middling ways. DA, when "close but not quite" is all you need....
