I always tell myself not to let football ruin my day but - (2 Viewers)

i was chatting with a Dallas fan after the game. He said, "thousands of flat screen TVs were destroyed today" And he wasnt joking, so I ask, has anyone done something like that after a Saints loss?
Never. That is a severe lack of self control and all kinds of messed up. I feel bad for folks who do that and the folks who have to be around them.

I usually wouldn't let it ruin my entire week, but a loss did put me in a horrible mood all day Sunday and for a few days after. But at some point I realized that wasn't fair to my wife and daughter so I worked on it and am now to the point where I'm annoyed at most for 15 or 20 minutes after a loss and then get over it.

Although I think part of that was the Super Bowl win. Once I experienced that with the feeling of the win and going to the parade downtown, everything else is just lagniappe. So, it's easier to not get worked up after a loss.

Great point about the SB win…getting that monkey off our back was pivotal in my “Overly emotional fan” rehab program. 😂

In all though, I credit most of my “Game day emotion zen” to realizing that there will always be winners and losers, there will always be a next season, and that it is EXTREMELY unlikely that your favorite football team is going to win the Super Bowl in the current or upcoming year.

This one has me feeling extra sad. Going to try and let it not make the week a bummer. I should know better by now after 30+ years watching this team lol
I told my wife it feels like a low grade depression after every loss. I usually come out of it about 2 days later.

I found myself madder on Monday than I was on Sunday. Today, I am still pretty steamed. It's not just this loss. It's the entire history of the franchise and the penchant to lose in this fashion that has me taking things personally. I mean, who in their right mind would try to field a punt on the 2 yard line, reaching over your shoulder?! And the Carr INT, I have never in my entire life, seen a deflected ball stay in the air for that gotdayum long. Even on our sack fumble, the ball rolled perfectly to the offensive player. Like can we catch some freaking consistent breaks?!

It's the weight of all of the probability-busting events, the 2010 playoffs where all five of our runningbacks were injured, the 2011 Divisional playoffs where PT was speared on the 2 and lost a fumble and then Gregg Williams calls man coverage on a team that never scored in under 3 minutes ALL YEAR, only to allow them to march 80 yards in under a minute for the game-winning score, it's the Minny Miracle, it's the 2018 NFCCG No call, it's EVERY game where something crazy happened to ensure a loss for the Saints.

It's getting harder and harder to not take things personally.

The NOLA No Call ensured I would never be as emotionally invested as I used to be in the NFL as a whole. Love football still, but I've accepted that teams only make the Super Bowl if the NFL is cool with them making the Super Bowl.
This times a million. Purely entertainment.

The game had similar fashion to the 2008 Vikings MNF game. A lot of Saints games at that.

It's tough sometimes.

I think the first 2 games set us up, no team can be that good for a whole season.

I think we're not as good as the first 2 weeks, but better than we've shown the last 2 weeks.

With a little more attention to detail, we would be looking at 4-0.

Bro, no lie that game kept me sleepless for 2+ days. It's the game that caused me to find SR so I could commiserate with fellow Saints fans. The flukey things that happened in that game...

The only other game that affected me that badly was the 2018 NFCCG.

2011 loss to San Fran was by far the most painful in my life as a Saints fan.

I don’t consider 2018 NFCCG a loss, that was rigged plain and simple….it hurt, just wasn’t a loss imo.

That 2011 was infuriating.

1. I hate the 49ers.
2. The speared PT who was the glue that held the offense together. We lost him for the entire game, lost the fumble, and the points.
3. We let a team that didn't have an 80 yard drive in under 3 minutes ALL season, go 80 yards in under a minute by casting a man defense.

I was so disgusted and furious that if I could have, I would have destroyed a big screen TV but I don't like wasting money. Lolol

Philly I felt that old familiar seethe but after last week I was back to meh and went about my business.

I had lost my passion . I didn't get the leas bit anxious or pace the floor anymore.
I gotta admit by halftime of the Dallas game though I was like

Besides the 2018 NFCCG for me was the 2013 Patriots game. Was my second year watching football. I was stunned for almost an hour seeing Brady drive the ball down our throats in the final seconds of the game. I was only 14. That was my "Welcome to sports!" moment right there.
